Hi, I’m Lidia Moore, and I am the Media Manager at Used Jewelry Buyer. My roles include buying and selling jewelry, managing our online Shopify store, as well as managing our social media pages. I love this role because it allows me to work with pieces in person and then figure out how to best photograph, present, and tell their stories online.
Before joining Used Jewelry Buyer, I lived in New York, where I worked in magazines before becoming a prop stylist and set designer. Over the past four years, I worked on a number of jewelry campaigns—from sourcing props to styling and building the scenery around pieces to make them stand out. During my time in magazines, I also worked on stories involving jewelry, so my role now feels like a merging of those worlds. I get to combine storytelling, history, styling, and visual presentation, but now I get to do it all in-house at Used Jewelry Buyer!
My favorite part of working at Used Jewelry Buyer is that you never know what is going to walk through the door. Every day is different. I especially love hearing the stories and history behind people's jewelry. Someone might come in and tell us that a piece belonged to their great-aunt who wore it while working as a nurse during the war, or that it traveled with someone on some fabulous adventure. Jewelry can hold so much history, and I love getting to hear those stories and learn about where these pieces have been. I love that each day is different and each day we learn something new.
Cameos are my favorite pieces. There is so much time, skill, and detail involved in carving something so intricate into a tiny piece of shell or coral. In general, I think I’m drawn to the little pieces that make you want to look closer—the ones where the craftsmanship, history, or tiny details tell you something about when and how they were made. I’m also drawn to Victorian jewelry, art deco, fun retro cocktail rings, unusual charms, and pieces that had a very specific purpose—like fur clips, mourning jewelry, or old engraved pieces. I love anything that makes me want to research why it was made or who might have worn it!

When I’m not working, you can find me at local farmers markets, spending time in nature, reading, restoring our old house, or catching up on great movies…always love a good recommendation!
